Since rainfall pattern is unreliable, erratic in nature and the amount is also sometimes insufficient for the cultivation of crops, irrigation will help in the general development of the country's agriculture. This will in turn improve the standard of living of the people. Wind mill will principally be of interest as an option for pumping water in relatively remote and deprived areas.
