dc.description.abstract | Any educational system must of necessity have valuation as an integral part. Without periodic evaluation educational goals may be lost sight of and programmes may tend to fall into purposeless, unchanging patterns and the use of inappropriate methods. Education in the Vocational Skills programme is an integral part of the Junior Secondary School curriculum under the current Educational Reforms in Ghana. The aim of this research is therefore to assess the effectiveness of the Vocational Skills programme as it is being handled in three selected schools, identify problems end suggest solutions to them. The schools are U.S.T., Ayeduse and Weweso Junior Secondary Schools, all in Kumasi metropolis. U.S.T. J.S.S. is situated on the University campus. Ayeduas J.S.S. is sited In Ayeduase, a village about two kilometres from U.S.T. campus. Weweso J.S.S. is situated near the Kumasi-Ejisu road about two and a half kilometres from the U.S.T. Junction, For this research Information was obtained from the Regional Education Office, Kumasi, Art Education Department, U.S.T. as well as personal visits and interviews involving both students and members of staff of the three schools. Literature on the topic was obtained from libraries. The purpose of the illustration is to provide a picture of some of the things being done under the Vocational skills in the schools. | en_US |
