Abstract
This study was to evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems at TCCBCGL. In order to achieve the set objectives for the studies, the COSO framework for effective internal control systems was adopted with the following five components namely, control environment, risk assessment, control activity, information and communication systems as well as monitoring. Closed ended questionnaires were designed for data collection from the staff of TCCBCGL Kumasi Plant. Upon collecting the necessary .data, it was analysed using SPSS and excel. All the five components proved to be working effectively at TCCBCGL. Based on the analysis a conclusion was drawn that the internal control structures at TCCBCGL is effective. In areas where weaknesses were found, it was recommended that, management should lead by example as well as ensuring that there is a policy to allow workers to be rotated.
